Multi-Vehicle Accident Injures 4 On I-84 In Danbury

DANBURY, CT — The Danbury Fire Department tackled a truck fire following a multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 84 Tuesday.

First responders found a commercial utility body truck fully involved with fire between the Exit 8 off and on ramps round 8:15 a.m., requiring the highway to be shut down for an hour. Crews from Danbury FD brought the blaze under control, while other companies evaluated several people involved in the accident, according to a statement from a city official.

Four vehicles were involved in the accident, and four patients were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The accident is under investigation by the Connecticut State Police.
