Hi, I’m Marc Catone, and like many of
you I grew up in Danbury during the 50s and 60s. I attended the Danbury Public School system
from South Street School to Main Street School to Danbury High School (1968). Also, I graduated from WCSU in 1972.
Recently, I published a generational memoir, “Until The Birds Chirp:
Reflections On The Sixties”, which traces touchstone events in my boyhood,
teenage, and young adult years. The Danbury Fair, swimming at Danbury
Town Park, hanging out on Main Street, being among the first group of kids to
attend the new DHS on Clapboard Ridge...the Danbury of our youth which we
all shared...are recalled in the pages of the
book. The joy of being a
kid playing in Rogers Park, a first kiss at the Palace Theater, going with fans
from Danbury to see The Beatles play at Shea Stadium, and even my foray into
politics at age 21 when I ran for a seat on the Democratic Town Committee...it's all there.“Until The
Birds Chirp: Reflections On The Sixties” gives a unique perspective on the
meaning of the Sixties to American life.
I’ve received letters and reviews from folks who didn’t grow up in
Danbury stating how they identified with my experiences. It was truly a generational experience
whether one came of age in Connecticut, Ohio, Kansas, or California.
Christmas and Hanukkah are almost
here. A book is always a perfect
gift. You can purchase my book either as
a paperback or Kindle e-book for yourself or someone special. Just visit Amazon books at the following
