New Facebook Page Touts Historic Danbury
More than 60 people have joined a new website devoted to Danbury's history.
"Danbury Connecticut History," is a new Facebook page created by Bob Brought Jr., and the page has attracted a very quick following of 62 followers. By 6:30 a.m., the group grew to 84 members. It grew to 93 as of 7:41 a.m., and to 115 by 8:47 a.m.
"Awesome Awesome job Bob !! This site is really gonna take off," said City Council member Jack Knapp to site Founder Bob Brought on Facebook.
To date, the page features images of the Danbury Fair, the flood of 1955, a Caldor's newspaper advertisement from 1970 and other items.

This is Brought's original appeal. "Hi All,
This is an open group for anyone from the Greater Danbury Area or who was Orginally from Danbury and Knows the History of the Past, Present and the possible Future Here!!"
Brought added a new photo album Wednesday night, including a photo of Railroad Avenue, and Elaine Lagarto responded on Facebook, "I see my grandmother's house! THANK YOU!!!!"

"That Elaine Lagarto also has a Danbury Fair Site on Facebook, :Fans of the great Danbury Fair" it has almost 3000 "fans" great site," wrote mjtf1952@hotmail.com, in an email to Danbury.patch.com.
Another photo was taken of the newspaper after the bombing attack by the Pardue brothers 40 years ago.
Brought sent out this appeal Wednesday night. "If anyone has photos they would like to add please do!!"
Pam Evanuska, a retired Town Clerk employee born and raised in Danbury, said she is enjoying flipping through the photographs.
"I remember that. I remember that," she said. And sometimes, she doesn't remember something. "My mind's going, but the page brings back good memories."
