DANBURY, CT — Ann Marie (Rodrigues) Natale, 89 of Danbury, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 20, 2023 after a long illness. She was the widow of the late Salvatore (Sam) Natale.

Ann was born at Danbury Hospital on February 23, during the blizzard of 1934 to Arthur and Rose (Ponessa) Rodrigues. Ann went to Danbury High School, graduating in 1951. She married Sam on September 6, 1952. Ann worked as a bookkeeper and office manager at S. S. Kresge for over 40 years. She then held the same position at Mc Crorys, before retiring in 1996 to care for her parents.
Ann was a former member of the Women’s Club of Danbury/New Fairfield and also volunteered at Dorothy Day Hospitality House.

Besides her parents and husband, Ann was preceded in death by her brother Arthur J. Rodrigues.
Ann is survived by her loving children, Donna Kaplanis (and her husband Nick) and her son David with whom she made her home, all of Danbury. “Iya” will also be missed by her two grandchildren, Matthew Kaplanis (and his wife Silvia) of Conway, South Carolina and Nicole Tatarzycki (and her husband James) of Danbury, and 6 great-grandchildren, Lucinda Kaplanis, Sophia Tatarzycki, Nicholas Kaplanis, Marcus Kaplanis, Matthew Kaplanis, and Anthony Tatarzycki, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ann had a special place in her heart for her cousins, Anne Rodrigues, Joan Minahan and Linda Nichols.

Ann was a member of St. Gregory the Great Church in Danbury.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Gregory the Great Church in Danbury on Wednesday, April 26 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Danbury.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ann’s memory to St. Gregory the Great Church, 85 Great Plain Rd., Danbury, CT 06811.

Ann’s family wishes to extend their sincerest thanks to Andrea Espinal for her loving care and companionship and to the Home Care Staff of Regional Hospice for their care during Ann’s final days.
