Obituary: Charles G. Davis, Jr., 42, Of Danbury

Charles enjoyed football and was a former player of the Danbury Trojans. He was given the nickname of "Nitro" Davis because of his speed.

DANBURY, CT — Charles G. Davis, Jr., 42, of Danbury, died on Friday, July 28, 2023, at his home.

He was born in Brooklyn, NY, on January 31, 181, and raised in Danbury to Glena (Brown) Davis of Danbury and the late Charles G. Davis Sr.

Charles attended Danbury schools, graduated from Danbury High School with the Class of 1999, and attended Norwalk Community College. At the time of his passing, he was employed with Collins Brothers Moving Company of Brewster, NY.

He enjoyed football and was a former player of the Danbury Trojans and was given the nickname of Nitro Davis because of his speed. As a baritone, he sang with the Mt. Pleasant AME Zion Church choir. He was a jack of all trades and a genius in his own right.

In addition to his mother Glenda, Charles is survived by his sister Chante Davis and two nieces Arica and Aiyanna.

Funeral Services will take place on Monday, August 7, 2023, at 12 noon in the Mt. Pleasant AME Zion Church, 69 Rowan St., Danbury, with the Rev. L. Christopher Lewis, Pastor, officiating.

The interment will take place in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury.

The family will receive friends at the Mt. Pleasant AME Zion Church on Monday, August 7, 2023, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon.
