DANBURY, CT — Dorothy Kopko, 90, of Danbury, went to eternal peace with our Lord surrounded by family on March 31, 2022. She was born August 28, 1931 in West Newton, PA. She was the youngest of ten children born to Charles and Catherine (Woryk) Shychuk.
Dorothy worked at Davis & Geck for 30 years. Loving mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Dorothy could spend hours in her many gardens. She loved flowers, especially her Christmas cactus that bloomed so beautifully with her love and care.

Dorothy is survived by three children; Diane Kozenieski of North Fort Myers, FL, Thomas Kopko Jr. and wife Valentina of Danbury, CT, Gregory Kopko Sr. of Clarksville, TN. She is also survived by three grandchildren; Keith Kozenieski and wife Erica of Danbury, CT, Gregory Kopko Jr. of Salem, OR, Nahyun Barbuto and husband Vincent of Salem, AL; three great grandchildren, Cole Kozenieski, Emory and Kennedy Barbuto and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents Charles and Catherine Shychuk and nine siblings; four sisters, Mary Lucovitz, Julia Lucas, Anna Shychuk and Helen Mihalsky, five brothers; Nick, Charles, Stanley, Andrew and Paul Shychuk and two great nephews Richard Shychuk and Paul Shychuk Jr.
The family would like to thank the Nurses and Staff of Maplewood at Danbury and Regional Hospice of Danbury for their loving care of Dottie.
