Obituary: Eleanor 'Ellie' Ann (Schladitz) Mastriani, 87, Of Danbury

DANBURY, CT — Eleanor “Ellie” Ann (Schladitz) Mastriani was born in Danbury to the late Otto and Ann Nancy Kildunn Schladitz on July 14, 1936.

Ellie was also predeceased by her brother, Otto Jack Schladitz.

Ellie passed away at Church Hill Village in Newtown on July 21, 2023. She was married on May 24, 1958 to the love of her life, Frank A. Mastriani (for 65+ years) and the loving mother of Deborah L. Creamer, Marcene P. Johnson and David F. Mastriani and his wife, Theresa Packwood Mastriani. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Brad and Lauren Creamer; Jake and Zachary Johnson; and Frankie and Charlie Mastriani.

Ellie graduated from Danbury High School in 1954 and then worked at David & Geck as an executive secretary for Quality Control. When the children were born, she was a stay at home mom while the children were growing up and then went to work as an executive secretary at Danbury Hospital for 18 years.

She loved her family and grandchildren, the sun, swimming, reading, tennis and traveling all over the country and world. She loved wearing green during the month of March in honor of St. Patrick.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at Danbury Hospital, and especially the staff of Dr. Rella’s office at Danbury Hospital for their great care and professionalism over the many years. They would also like to thank the staff at Church Hill Village for their care and compassion while she was in their care. Many thanks also to Vitas Health Care Hospice for their professionalism and compassionate care.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Friday, July 28, 2023 at St. Gregory the Great Church, Great Plain Rd., Danbury. Entombment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

There are no calling hours.
