DANBURY, CT — Frank J. Timan, 91, of Danbury, husband of the late Angela “Angie” Timan, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday morning, July 7, 2023.

He was born in Danbury on August 11, 1931, a son of the late Michael and Mary (Zuzalock) Timan. Raised in Danbury’s “North end” he attended Danbury schools and served in the U.S. Navy, as a Seaman, aboard the U.S.S. Bennington.

Frank was a mechanic by trade and original owner of Midtown Chevron located at the corner of West St. and Terrace Place (now the present site of the Saving Bank of Danbury).

Frankie was an avid and devoted golfer; he could talk all day about golf. He was a patient teacher and supported many golfers in learning the game he loved. He was a member and former president of the Richter Park Men’s Golf Association, the Catholic War Veterans, and a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church where he served as a past coordinator of the weekly Bingo and Golden Dome Bakers.

Frank is survived by four daughters, Linda Sarbello (Fred), Pamela Pena (Al), Margaret Russell (Jeff), and Marie Skok (Darren), twelve grandchildren Jessica (Anthony), Cassandra (Cesar), Nicole, Ben, James (Candace), Chelsea, Victoria, Elizabeth, Stefan, Trevor, Nina, and Adolfo Jr. Eight great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Timan was predeceased by his sister Anna Rossi, brother Michael “Mickey” Timan, and sister-in-law Sarah Swan.

Funeral services will take place in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 13 Pembroke Rd., Danbury on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at 10:30 a.m.

The family will receive friends at St. Nicholas Church on Thursday morning from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery with military honors.

Contributions in Mr. Timan’s memory may be made to St. Nicholas Church.
