Obituary: Giuseppina Vassalotti DiBuono, 82, of Danbury

DANBURY, CT — Giuseppina Vassalotti DiBuono returned home on Oct. 24, 2018 at Glen Hill Center in Danbury. She had lived at Glen Hill since December 2007 after suffering a stroke.

She was born in Riccia (CB), Italy on Nov. 3, 1935. She was educated and lived in Monacilioni (CB) until 1970, when, with her husband, Pasquale DiBuono, and their daughter, Antoinette, immigrated to the United States, settling in Danbury.

Giuseppina was employed for 27 years at Fairfield Processing Corp. in Danbury until her retirement in 1997. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Pasquale in 1996. Survivors include her daughter, Antoinette (Toni) Moore and her husband, Gene Moore, of Danbury. Her brother, Dr. Michael Vassalotti, and his wife, Maria, of Herndon, VA. Her grandsons: Dr. George Moore and his wife, Nobi Tahara Moore, of Willimantic and Danny Moore of New York City. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Giuseppina possessed enthusiasm, compassion, selflessness and a love of life. She cherished her family and friends. She adored her grandsons, in whom she took great pride in their academic achievements and chosen professions.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 29, 2018 at St. Peter Church, Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury. Friends will be received from 2pm-5pm on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
