Obituary: Gloria Keenan, 84, Of Danbury

DANBURY, CT — Gloria Keenan, 84, of Danbury, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, in Danbury.

Gloria was born in Danbury to John and Mary Maigis on May 14, 1939. Gloria graduated from Danbury High School and married the love of her life, William Paul Keenan Sr. on January 15, 1960. Gloria would always say, "She had the best and everyone else had the rest."

Gloria is preceded in death by her husband William, both her parents and her sister Gen Valerie and brother John Maigis. Gloria is survived by her sister Mary Gillotti, daughter Kathy White and her husband Dean White, her son William Paul Keenan, Jr., and wife Caitlin Maura Keenan as well as three loving grandchildren, Jacob, Jessica, and Steven.

Gloria shared her love for musicals and old movies with her family and could often be found watching one in the recliner with a word search in her hand. Her humor, her wit, and her joking nature will be what will be missed the most.

A memorial visitation for Gloria will be held Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. The burial of cremains will follow at Wooster Cemetery, 20 Ellsworth Ave., Danbury. Memorials may be given to Hancock Hall in Danbury in lieu of flowers.
