Obituary: Horacio Rodrigues, 91, of Danbury
In 1978, the family migrated to the U.S. and built a life in Danbury, where he worked as a machine operator at Rapid Power Technologies.

DANBURY, CT — Horacio Rodrigues, 91, of Danbury, passed away on Dec. 28, at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Horacio was born in Vila Franca da Serra, Gouveia, to Manuel Rodrigues Carola and Emilia Oliva on December 10, 1927. He migrated to Angola, Africa where he met his beloved wife, Maria Lucinda Rodrigues. There they raised their son, Antonio Rodrigues.
In 1978, the family migrated to the United States and built a life in Danbury, where he worked as a machine operator at Rapid Power Technologies. He retired in 1991 spending his time between his native Portugal and with his family in Danbury.

Horacio was an avid gardener taking pride in all his produce. He loved spending time with family and friends, especially all his great-grandchildren. Horacio is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Rodrigues and Emilia Oliva; his siblings, José Rodrigues of Argentina, Herculano Oliva of Portugal and Palmira Oliva of Portugal. Horacio is survived by his wife, Maria Lucinda Rodrigues; his son, Antonio Rodrigues; his brothers, Alberto Oliva (Lurdes) and Leonel Oliva (Gloria); grandchildren, Milene Ferreira (Camilo) and Sandra Augusto (Danny); and great-grandchildren, Joseph, Mason, Ella, Benjamin and Brooklyn.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, Jan. 4, with Father Brito Martins of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, 149 Deer Hill Ave, Danbury, CT 06810. Burial and additional funeral services will be held in Portugal. Memorials may be given to Regional Hospice of Danbury.

The family of Horacio wishes to extend our sincerest thanks to Regional Hospice. Although our Father/Husband spent such a short time in the care of Regional Hospice, it was peaceful and as comforting as we wished his last moments to be.
