Obituary: Helena (Luis) Coelho, 61, Of Danbury

DANBURY, CT — Helena (Luis) Coelho, 61, of Danbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, Jan. 8, 2024. She was born in Ferreiros do Dao, Portugal, on Sept. 6, 1962, the daughter of the late Antonio and Leonor (Mendes) Luis.

Survived by her cherished husband of 41 years, Manuel Coelho, Helena will be remembered fondly by her children, Shawn Coelho (Leticia), Tyler Coelho (Rachel), and Sydney Gaspar (Jack), along with her grandchildren, Matteo and Luca Coelho, and Victoria Andrade. She is also survived by her brother, Fernando Luis, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Monday, Jan. 15, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 12 Cottage Street, Danbury. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Helena’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
