Obituary: Jack Barata, 90, Of Danbury
Jack retired from Amphenol after 40 years, and then enjoyed working out in the yard and listening to his extensive record collection.

DANBURY, CT —Jack Barata, 90, of Danbury passed away on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023 after a brief illness.
Jack was born in Danbury, a son of the late Angeline Barata and Diamantino Barata. He attended Saint Peter School in Danbury and graduated from Henry Abbott Technical School.

Jack served in the US Army signal corps and was stationed in Germany.
Jack married the love of his life, Nora, on Sept. 10, 1960. He was an avid photographer and loved going to Cape Cod. A dedicated race fan, he attended the boat races, midget car races and then the stock car races at the Danbury Fair, and rarely missed a Saturday night.

Jack is predeceased by his parents and his sister, Mary Marques.
In addition to his wife of 63 years, he leaves a daughter, Kimberly Barata Ribeiro; his sister, Rose Marie Foss; and nieces and nephews also survive.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023 at St. Peter Church, Danbury.
Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
Friends may call from 4:00–7:00 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 4, 2023 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury.
