Obituary: Jesuina 'Winnie' (Vieira-Botelho) DoVale, 97, Of Danbury

After 30 years of service as a group leader, Winnie retired from American Cyanamid.

DANBURY, CT — Jesuina “Winnie” (Vieira-Botelho) DoVale, devoted wife of the late Armando P. DoVale entered into eternal life on Aug. 28.

Winnie was born in Fall River, MA, on Aug. 29, 1925, the daughter of the late Guilherme and Evangelina Vieira-Botelho. She was a lifetime member of St. Peter Church Parish in Danbury, where she attended school through the sixth grade. In 1980, she continued her education, receiving her GED.

Armando and Winnie were married on May 18, 1946, in St. Peter Church.

After 30 years of service as a group leader, she retired from American Cyanamid. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family. She is survived by a daughter, Brenda DoVale of Los Angeles; a son, William DoVale of Danbury; and a granddaughter, Jessica DoVale-Shenton of Bristol, VT. She predeceased James P. DoVale in 1993.

A graveside service for Jesuina will be held Friday, September 8, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter Cemetery, 71 Lake Ave Extension, Danbury, CT 06810.
