Obituary: Joan O. Ziegler, 95, Of Danbury

Joan and her late husband worked tirelessly on the Connecticut Agricultural Fair where she served as Superintendent.

DANBURY, CT — Joan O. Ziegler, 95, of Danbury, passed away on January 20, 2022 in Ridgefield.

Joan was born in Danbury, to John and Hilda (McStay) O'Hara on February 25, 1926. Joan was a graduate of Danbury High School. She married Paul Ziegler on August 23, 1947 in Danbury. She worked as a telephone operator for SNET. She was a Master of Redding Grange # 15 and held the offices of Deputy State Master and Director of the Committee on Women's Activities, Deaf Activities Director, and State Grange Pomona with The Connecticut State Grange. She and her late husband worked tirelessly on the Connecticut Agricultural Fair where she served as Superintendent. Joan enjoyed volunteering at Dorothy Day Hospitality House and sewing comfort pillows for Hospice with the Helping Hand ladies at the United Methodist Church.
Joan is predeceased in death by her husband Paul, Sister Elaine Tlasky and granddaughter Kimberly Sabene.

Joan is survived by her son John (Chris) Ziegler, daughter JoAnn (Ron) Kreho, granddaughters Kristin Kreho, Rhonda Kreho,, Jaenine (Lou) LoStumbo, Robin Allen, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was blessed with wonderful neighbors who looked out for her after her husband is passing. Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home 57 Main Street, Danbury, Ct on Monday January 31, 2022 from 11:00am to 12:00 noon, where a funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m.
