Obituary: Joel Robert (Bobby) Dupaw, 92, Of Danbury

Bobby worked as a guidance counselor at Broadview Junior High at the end of his education career.

DANBURY, CT — Joel Robert (Bobby) Dupaw, 92, of Danbury, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 30, 2022 at Glen Hill Center in Danbury.

Bobby was born in St. Albans, Vermont and spent much of his early life in Rutland, Vermont. After serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, he returned to Rutland to attend and graduate from Castleton State College.

Bob devoted his life to public education and after teaching in Florida for ten years he moved north to Danbury where he worked as a guidance counselor at Broadview Junior High for the rest of his career. While working in Danbury Bob attended SCSU where he received his Master’s degree.
Bob loved to travel and over the course of his life he managed to visit countries on all the continents except Antarctica. His applied his love for photography by filling his home with photos recording his journeys.

Bob is predeceased by his wife, Isabella and by his brother, William.

Bob will be buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Rutland ,Vermont, on Monday June 6. A brief graveside ceremony will begin at 12:30 p.m.
