Obituary: Katharine T. James, 89, Of Danbury

DANBURY, CT — Katharine T. James, 89, of Danbury passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023 at Danbury Hospital after a brief illness. A Registered Nurse, Katharine worked for many years at Danbury Hospital. She subsequently worked for the Danbury Police Department and finally for Mazzia Appraisals.

Katharine was predeceased by the love of her life, Michael Mazzia, sister Mary Sandstrom, brother Frank Erdos, and parents Frank and Rose Erdos.

Katharine is survived by her sons, Darryl Gillotte (Sheri), and Richard Gillotte (Hazel), five grandchildren, Maggie, Cole, Chelsea, Ricky, and Alex; sisters Irene Barese of Danbury, Pearle Saalborn of Brooksville, Florida, and many nieces and nephews. A hard worker who took care of others all her life, Katharine enjoyed gambling, the opera, a good Rob Roy, and imparting family history.

Katharine will be dearly missed by all including her dear friends Lucille and Darlene, and wonderful neighbors Roberta and Mark.
