Obituary: Maria Felisbela (Bela) Cacheina da Cunha, 79, Of Danbury

DANBURY, CT — Maria Felisbela (Bela) Cacheina da Cunha, 79, of Danbury, passed away on Nov. 25, 2022 at Bethel Healthcare after a long illness.

Bela was born in Orgens, district of Viseu, Portugal on May 10, 1943, daughter of the late Evaristo Borges and Maria da Purificação Soares.

Bela was predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years. They immigrated to the United States in March of 1982 with their three young daughters and settled in Danbury. Bela loved to cook her traditional Portuguese dishes as much as she loved creating her own versions. She had a wonderful sense of humor which she made shine every April Fools' Day.

Bela is survived by her three daughters, Clara, Estela and Vera, her adoring grandchildren, Nicole, Michael, Isabella, Lilliana and Luke, her son-in-law John, her sisters Adriana (Zé), Eduarda (Henrique), Fernanda and brother Antonio (Joaquina) of Portugal and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, 2022 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St, Danbury.
