Obituary: Mark C. Checkosky, 35, Of Danbury
Mark was most recently was employed as a Senior Chemist with King Industries of Norwalk, and previously with Bedoukian Research Inc.

DANBURY, CT — Mark C. Checkosky, age 35 of Danbury, died on Mar. 23 at his residence. He was the husband of James H. Archambault.
Mark was born in Danbury June 30, 1987, the son of David J. and Maria A. (Varney) Checkosky of Brookfield. He was a graduate of Brookfield High School and Skidmore College, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry. He most recently was employed as a Senior Chemist with King Industries of Norwalk, and previously was employed with Bedoukian Research Inc., Danbury for over 10 years.

Mark enjoyed all sports, especially hockey and golf. He was an avid fan of Syracuse basketball and football, the New York Yankees and Jets, and New Jersey Devils hockey. In his senior year of high school, Mark captained the Brookfield/Bethel ice hockey team where he earned All-State honors, a feat for which he was very proud. He continued playing in hockey leagues at Chelsea Piers in New York City. He enjoyed cooking, and spending time with his dog, Zelda. He loved spending summers up north in the Adirondack Mountains with his family.
In addition to his husband James and his parents, Mark is survived by his brother David Checkosky and his wife Jill of Stamford, his sister Kristen Checkosky of Brookfield, his grandmother Kim Varney, his nephew Noah Checkosky, his niece Julianna Checkosky, stepson Tristan Archambault, as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury on Wednesday, Mar. 28 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
