Obituary: Michael F. Scarola, 88, Of Danbury

Michael served in the United States Army for four years. After being stationed in Germany, he returned to Danbury and opened a donut shop.

DANBURY, CT — Michael F. Scarola, age 88, of Danbury, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2022.

Michael was born May 20, 1933, to the late Dominick and Mary Scarola. He was born in Bronx, New York. Michael served in the United States Army for four years. Upon returning to Danbury, after being stationed in Germany, he opened a donut shop.

In January of 1983, Michael met the love of his life, Jeanne, at the bank. Like a man truly in love, he went to the bank every day, waiting until her line opened just to see her. He loved Jeanne very much. They went on to wed in November of 1983. Through their marriage, Michael gained four children. They made many memories on their travels to Germany throughout his life. They enjoyed taking daily walks and skiing. Later on in his life, Michael started taking classes, to learn to paint, in this, he developed an appreciation for painting and photography. Among his hobbies, he had an infinite love for building and flying airplanes. He shared many of these excursions with Jeanne and his children.

Michael was a strong-willed and kind-hearted man, always pushing forward and finding new things to be involved in. He and Jeanne kept standing lunch dates with his close friends throughout the years. Michael was a loyal friend. In 1987, he became a grandfather. After that, he was blessed with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. At the end of his life, Michael accepted Jesus Christ as his lord and savior. Michael lived a life full of love and excitement. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Michael was predeceased by his parents and two brothers. He is survived by his wife Jeanne and his four children, Robin, Michelle, Lori, and Steven. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

There will be a Memorial Visitation on Saturday, from noon to 3:00 p.m., at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, CT 06810.
