Obituary: Michael 'Mickey' Timan, 93, Of Danbury
Mr. Timan was a member of D.A.R.F., Richter Park Senior Men's Club, and the Danbury Old Timers Athletic Association.

DANBURY, CT — Michael “Mickey” Timan, 93, of Danbury, husband of the late Rita (Skelly) Timan, died on Friday morning, Mar. 31, 2023, at Danbury Hospital.
Mr. Timan was born in Danbury on Sept. 5, 1929, a son of the late Michael and Mary (Zuzalock) Timan.

He attended Danbury schools and graduated from Danbury High School with the Class of 1947, serving as the class president and being an outstanding sportsman.
In 1955, Mr. Timan was appointed to the Danbury Fire Dept., a career of twenty-five years, and retiring at the rank of lieutenant.

An avid golfer and baseball player, Mr. Timan played AAA baseball with minor league teams before desiring to return to Danbury.
He was a member of D.A.R.F., Richter Park Senior Men’s Club, and the Danbury Old Timers Athletic Association where he was inducted into their Hall of Fame individually and as a member of the DHS State Championship Golf Team. Mr. Timan was also inducted into the DHS Hall of Fame. He was an avid fan of the NY Yankees, NY Giants, and UCONN Women Huskies.
He was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church of Danbury and its Men’s Club and Golden Dome Bakers.
He is survived by his children-Michael, Rhonda Ingraham, Brian, Marylou Vanderhoef, Anna Marie Gieralt, Thomas, John, Terrance, and Todd. His longtime companion Maura Melody, a brother Frank, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Timan was predeceased by a sister, Anna Rossi, and by a granddaughter Jacqueline Gieralt.
The Office of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 13 Pembroke Rd., Danbury.
Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
The family will receive friends at St. Nicholas Church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
