Obituary: Olga M. Rotella, 92, Of Danbury

DANBURY, CT — Olga M. Rotella, 92, of Danbury, wife of Joseph M. Rotella, died on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023, at her home.

Mrs. Rotella was born in Danbury on May 4, 1930, a daughter of the late John and Helen (Molchan) Mudry. She attended local schools and graduated from Danbury High School with the Class of 1948.

Mrs. Rotella was employed with the State of Connecticut at the Danbury Superior Court. In her early years, she was a legal secretary with the law firm of Attorney James Maloney.

A lifelong Danbury resident, she was a member of the Danbury Drum Corps, St. Peter Church, its Altar Guild, and Home School Association where she was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader.

With a long family tradition to St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church of Danbury, Mrs. Rotella was a member of the Golden Dome Bakers and of the Altar Society.

In addition to her husband of sixty-five years, Mrs. Rotella is survived by three sons, Anthony (Julie), Joseph Jr. (Joliene), and Michael, two daughters, Cathy Ross and Susan Rotella, a sister Helen Tita, a brother Michael Mudry, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

In addition to her parents, Rotella was predeceased by a sister, Mary Melycher.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Peter Church, 121 Main St., Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

There will be no calling hours.
