Obituary: Patricia Ann (Casey) Murray, 83, Of Danbury

DANBURY, CT — Patricia Ann (Casey) Murray, 83, of Danbury, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 10, 2023. She was the loving wife of Edward F. Murray.

Mrs. Murray was born on April 4, 1940, in Brooklyn, NY; the daughter of Kathryn (Christie) Kozlowski and Anthony Casey and stepdaughter of Charles Francis Kozlowski. Patricia grew up in Park Slope, Brooklyn, and spent memorable summers in Little Falls, New Jersey. She attended Saint Saviour High School and Marymount Manhattan College. She married at the age of 22 and had three children: Christopher, Julianne, and Jennifer.

A retired school librarian, volunteer, and active parent member at The Academy of St. Joseph on Long Island, Mrs. Murray was a longtime parishioner of St. Francis Cabrini, New York, and Saint Elizabeth Seton Church of Ridgefield. She enjoyed singing in her church choir, volunteering at schools and in local political campaigns, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Murray is survived by her husband of 60 years, Edward, her brother Michael Kozlowski as well as her children Christopher, Julianne, and Jennifer, their spouses Thomas Socha and Yasmin Murray, her grandchildren Kyle Norton, Kevin Norton, Megan Murray, Matthew Murray, Collin Socha, and Patrick Socha.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Murray was predeceased by her mother Kathryn Christie Kozlowski, and her stepfather Charles Francis Kozlowski.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, May 15, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Saint Elizabeth Seton Church; 520 Ridgebury Road, Ridgefield.

Interment will follow in Saint Mary’s Cemetery; 110 North Street, Ridgefield.

Contributions in Mrs. Murray’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
