Obituary: Patricia Marie "Patty" Tompkins, 61, Of Danbury
A lifelong area resident, Patty was a graduate of Danbury High School Class of 1978, and had an extensive employment career with GE Capital.

DANBURY, CT — Patricia Marie "Patty" Tompkins, age 61, of Danbury, went into the arms of the Lord on Feb. 9, following a short but hard fought battle with cancer. She was the wife of Brian D. Tompkins.
Patty was born June 21, 1960 in Danbury, the daughter of Helen (Sullivan) Tracy of Danbury and the late Alfred E. Tracy. A lifelong area resident, she was a graduate of Danbury High School Class of 1978, and had an extensive employment career with GE Capital, working at both the Danbury and Stamford offices, as well as Cartus for over 20 years, holding multiple roles in both the billing and accounts receivable departments.

Patty was a spiritual person, deeply rooted in her faith. She was an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, New Fairfield, where she was a member of its Altar Guild, and served as its recording secretary. While employed at Cartus, she was a member of its Bible Study group.
Patty loved all of her family, but especially loved spending time with her grandsons. She also enjoyed crafting, crocheting, and hosting family gatherings.

In addition to her husband Brian, and her mother Helen, Patty is survived by her daughters: Colleen Smith and her husband Christopher, and Tracy Tompkins and her fiancé Josef Ford, her grandsons Christopher Smith Jr, Colin Smith, Cameron Tompkins, and Jacob Harvey, her brother: Michael Tracy and his wife Sheila, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Patty was predeceased by her son, Christopher Tompkins.
Funeral services for Patty will take place on Thursday, Feb. 17 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, New Fairfield at 11:30 a.m. Interment at Saint Mary Cemetery, Bethel will be private.
The family will receive friends at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury on Wednesday, Feb. 16 from 5-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
