Obituary: Patricia (Matusick) Durkin, 84, Of Danbury

DANBURY, CT — Patricia (Matusick) Durkin, 84, of Danbury, wife of the late John Durkin, died at Danbury Hospital on Thursday, April 20, 2023. She was born in Shenandoah, PA on June 29, 1938, daughter of the late John and Laura (Piekarsky) Matusick.

Patricia enjoyed working for the Danbury Public Schools, in the cafeteria. She was currently at Pembroke School.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, her happiest moments were with her family.

She will be sadly missed by her four children, Chris Durkin (Lorraine), Sandy Ballard, Ron Durkin (Nancy), and Kathy Ditscher (Andy); her grandchildren, Eric Durkin, Jessica Balogh (Ryan), Riley Pollard (Nik), Kelsey Durkin, Hailey and Jacob Ditscher; and her three great-grandchildren, Paisley, Layla, and Erin.

The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury on Thursday between the hours of 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Burial in St. Casmir Cemetery, Shenandoah, PA, will take place at a later date.
