Obituary: Richard A. Andreala, 77, Of Danbury

DANBURY, CT —Richard A. Andreala, 77, of Danbury, died peacefully on Saturday, March 5. He was the loving husband of Diane (Trankina) Andreala.

Mr. Andreala was born in Queens, NY on May 11, 1944; a son of the late John and Alice (Lendach) Andreala. He grew up surrounded by family and always kept his family close to his heart.
A Danbury resident for the past 3 years, Mr. Andreala was a retired Clerk for the United States Postal Service. He served honorably in the US Navy, sailing around the world aboard USS Enterprise in the world’s first nuclear task force. He was also a talented saxophonist in the Navy band. In his spare time, Mr. Andreala enjoyed playing computer games, bike riding, and especially his beloved dogs, Bella and Molly.

Mr. Andreala is survived by his wife of 43 years, Diane, and their two daughters: Sara Armstrong and her husband, Brian; and Ashley Andreala-Marra and her wife, Alena. Mr. Andreala is also survived by 3 grandchildren: Ava, Aidan, and Ella Armstrong; a brother, Stephen Andreala and his wife, Jayne; a sister, Elena Connelly; and cousin, Sandy Galeotafiore. Mr. Andreala is also survived by his many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother, Robert Andreala; brother-in-law John Connelly; and sister-in-law Willie Andreala.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at 11:00 AM at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church; 353 Main Street, Ridgefield. Interment will take place privately.
