Obituary: Rocco G. Tarascio, 86, Of Danbury

DANBURY, CT — Rocco G. Tarascio, age 86 of Danbury, died peacefully on June 30 at Danbury Hospital with his family at his side.

Rocco was born September 7, 1935 in Port Chester, NY, the son of the late Concetto and Carmella (Mammolitti) Tarascio. He was raised and educated in Port Chester, graduating from Port Chester High School in 1954. Following high school, he joined the US Marine Corps, where he had the honor of serving on the Intrepid.

Rocco was employed with the Pitney Bowes Co. for 21 years, and also with Savin Business Machines as a corporate collections auditor. He enjoyed coaching little league football in New Rochelle, NY, as well as traveling and seeing new places. In recent years, he enjoyed visiting with neighbors and friends on warm sunny days.

In addition to his wife Lorraine of 59 years, Rocco is survived by his son Michael Tarascio and his wife Candance, three granddaughters, Amanda, Kylie, and Madison, three great grandchildren, his in laws Joseph Paolillo , Dolores Vance and her husband Andy, sister in law Sheila Paolillo , and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rocco was predeceased by his brothers and their spouses Angelo and Philomena Tarascio, and Anthony and Sara Tarascio, brother in law Larry Paolillo, and sister in law Mary Paolillo.

Funeral services with military honors will take place on Thursday July 7 at 11:00 a.m. in the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury. Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 6, from 4pm to 7pm.
