She was active in the Danbury Methodist Church, as member of the Bell Choir.

DANBURY, CT -- Shirley Mae Stoppel, age 93, of Danbury passed away Sunday July 15, 2018 at Danbury Hospital.
Shirley was born May 16, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY a daughter of the late Ernest and Viola (Fritz) Stoppel. She received a bachelor's degree from the Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY. Shirley was employed by Combe Industries in New York for many years as bookkeeper/accountant.
She was active in the Danbury Methodist Church, as member of the Bell Choir. After moving to Brookfield over ten years ago, Shirley became an usher at Brookfield Congregational Church. She also assisted with many church events. Shirley spent her life volunteering and helping others.

Shirley is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday July 21, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. in the Hull Funeral Home 60 Division Street, Danbury.Family will receive friends at the Hull Funeral Home on Saturday from 3-4 p.m.Private cremation will take place at Connecticut Crematory, Stamford.
