Obituary: Tina Patel, 44, of Danbury

When Tina wasn't working, she loved to travel, especially to beautiful beaches with a good book in hand.

DANBURY, CT — Tina Patel, 44, of Danbury, passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 13, 2023 after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.

Tina was born in Baroda, India on Feb. 20, 1978. She grew up in Danbury, where she attended Immaculate High School and following graduation, went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Western Connecticut State University. With her diploma in hand, Tina joined Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals in the Finance Department and over the next 22 years, had a very successful career culminating with her most recent appointment as VP of Market Access Marketing, Payor Marketing & Business Innovation.

Tina was a true friend and mentor to many. She was always generous with her time, an advocate for the underdog, and a brilliant and respected professional in the pharmaceutical industry. When Tina wasn’t working, she loved to travel, especially to beautiful beaches with a good book in hand. In addition, she enjoyed painting, shopping, catching up on Bravo TV shows and eating her favorite food – nachos.

Tina was the daughter of Dilipkumar Patel, who preceded her in death, and is survived by her Mother, Dharini Patel and Sister, Kelly Patel.

A celebration of her life will be held on Feb. 24 at Michael’s Tap Room 37 Stony Hill Rd, Bethel, CT 06801. Friends will be welcomed from 3-7 p.m. with a remembrance service scheduled to begin at 3:15 p.m.

Memorial contributions can be made to the following causes close to Tina’s heart: No Kid Hungry, Equality Now, American Cancer Society.
