Official Start Of Summer In Danbury: Street Festival Set For June 3

"Summer in the City" will kick off on Saturday, June 3, when the Danbury Street Festival celebrates its 35th anniversary.

DANBURY, CT — Over 70 artists and vendors will line the roadway between White Street and West Street on Saturday, June 3, when the Danbury Street Festival celebrates its 35th anniversary.

From noon to 6 p.m., CityCenter Danbury will once again turn Main Street into a pedestrian-only festival. This year's event will highlight the "arts and innovation that are core components in the revitalization efforts in downtown Danbury," according to organizers.

At least seven food trucks, including El Taco Loco, Twins BBQ, Pink Elephant, and Weenie Lynn’s will be catering to every taste. Beer and wine will be provided by the Tapville Mobile Taproom, in the outdoor "Bar-do Garden" alcove located at the Bardo Walkway, highlighting many local breweries.

Three live performance stages will host more than 20 different groups and performance artists, featuring several musicians and a variety of dance troupes from multiple cultural organizations. Tiaa Candy and Macaroni Kid will be sponsoring a Family Fun Zone.

At 6:30 p.m., the Danbury CityCenter Summer Concert Series kicks off with performances by Cobalt Blue Band and Lavender Social Club on the CityCenter Green.

Main Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from West Street to White Street from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Event parking will be available at the Patriot Parking Garage, 21 Delay Street.
