(courant.com) — A new ShopRite supermarket is opening this November at 72 Newtown Road in Danbury, and the owners are holding a job fair on September 25 and 26 to hire about 200 workers. • Obstructed license plate leads to felony gun bust (midhudsonnews.com) — A Danbury man was arrested in Patterson, N.Y., after a deputy stopped his car for an obstructed license plate and found a loaded handgun, officials said. The 30-year-old, who lacked any pistol permit, faces a felony firearm charge, multiple traffic tickets, and future court proceedings after being released without bail.
   

• Our Lady of Guadalupe comes to Little Angels Shrine (bridgeportdiocese.org) — A Danbury priest, Father Eric Silva of St. Joseph Church, helped lead the dedication of a new Our Lady of Guadalupe statue at Little Angels Shrine in Newtown, a burial and memorial space for miscarried and stillborn babies. The shrine offers grieving families a peaceful place for prayer, remembrance, and plaques honoring children, with Catholic Cemeteries providing ongoing bereavement support.
