PD Charges Danbury Teen with Multiple Vehicle Thefts, Burglaries

DANBURY, CT — Police have charged a city man with multiple burglaries and vehicle thefts at a local car dealership.

Leon "Bishop" Brown, 18, of Danbury, was arrested Friday following the investigation of three separate car burglaries and vehicle thefts that occurred at Weeks Pre-Owned Audi and Volkswagen Dealership on July 7, 24 and 26.

Dealership surveillance cameras recorded Brown, and multiple items of evidence were recovered during the investigation of the thefts and break-ins, according to the police report. Stolen vehicles from the July 7 and July 24 incidents were recovered the Bronx by New York City police.

Police took Brown into custody at his home on Mill Plain Road following the July 26 incident. "Items of evidence were recovered at the scene of his arrest," Det. Sgt. Adam Marcus said, in a release.

Brown was charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, two counts of third-degree criminal mischief, first-degree larceny, fourth-degree larceny, breach of peace, interfering with an officer and two counts of failure to comply with fingerprint request.

He is being held on both $25,000 and $50,000 bonds, pending release or arraignment.
