DANBURY, CT — Police are reporting that the puppies missing from a Federal Road pet shop were sold "under false pretenses" by store employees.

Police began investigation of the missing twenty to thirty puppies following a phone call from the management of Puppy Kisses on Saturday. The dogs had been presumed stolen, but further scrutiny from the police revealed that the animals had been sold by store employees for $100 each, according to Detective Lieutenant Mark Williams.

The Danbury police urge anyone who purchased a puppy or other merchandise from Puppy Kisses, located on 128 Federal Road, on Saturday, July 27, to contact Detective Collins at 203-797-4667.
