Police Nab Danbury Man Accused Of Dealing Drugs Throughout City
Police have charged a Danbury man with multiple drug offenses following a raid on his apartment Thursday.
DANBURY, CT — Police have charged a Danbury man with multiple drug offenses following a raid on his apartment Thursday.
The Danbury Police Department began its investigation of Arpit Soni, 28, of Crows Nest Lane months ago, following complaints from residents that he was dealing drugs throughout the city. Police obtained search warrants for Soni's vehicle, apartment and person.
On Thursday, detectives from the Danbury and Brookfield PD, as well as agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration, were conducting surveillance of Soni's apartment at the Birch Wood Condominiums when the suspect pulled into the parking lot.

Soni was attempting to discard Xanax pills when he was approached by police, who placed him under arrest, according to police spokesperson Erin Henry.
Police seized those pills, as well as a large quantity of Xanax pills, a small amount of cocaine and fentanyl, and a glass smoking pipe from Soni's apartment, Henry said.

Soni was charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to keep a narcotic in a proper container. A $10,000 surety bond was posted.
