Unlicensed Dentist Working Out Of Hotel Shut Down: Danbury Police
Danbury police say they discovered an impromptu operating set-up with dental drills, suction machines and a portable X-ray machine.
DANBURY, CT — Police said they have charged a Danbury man, who is accused of practicing dentistry without a license out of the La Quinta Hotel on Newtown Road.
The Danbury Police Department responded to reports of a hotel resident practicing dental work on Sunday night. Upon arrival, officers found a man who claimed he was conducting dental referrals, police said.
When officers entered the room of Hugo Moraes-DeLima, they discovered an impromptu operating set-up with dental drills, suction machines and a portable X-ray machine, according to a report from the Danbury PD. While speaking with the suspect, a man exited the bathroom with gauze in his mouth, stating he had just had a dental procedure, police said.

Police charged Moraes-DeLima with practicing dentistry without a license and illegal sale of prescription drugs. He is being held on a $350,000 bond.
