Primark Plans to Open 3rd U.S. Store in Danbury

DANBURY, CONN. − Primark, a leading European fashion retailer with over 300 stores in 11 countries, has announced the opening date of its third U.S. location and first in Connecticut, at the Danbury Fair Mall. Doors will open to customers at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 10th, when Primark will bring its signature trend-setting, affordable fashion to one of New England’s largest shopping centers.

“We are thrilled to continue our momentum in the Northeast with our first Connecticut location,” said Paul Marchant, Primark Chief Executive. “Feedback from customers to our two U.S. stores in Boston and Philadelphia has been very positive and we are delighted by the opportunity to introduce Primark’s amazing fashion at amazing prices to Danbury customers just in time for the summer season.”

Located on the mall’s upper level, Primark’s Danbury store is approximately 53,600 sq. ft. and will offer a constantly refreshed range of womenswear, menswear, children’s wear, home goods, beauty products and gifts. The store’s design and layout builds on Primark’s latest contemporary shop fit concept and will feature 65 fitting rooms and 45 registers for fast and convenient shopping.

Primark is actively hiring for the Danbury Fair Mall store, hosting recruitment events from now to May 10th at its recruitment center located on the lower level of Danbury Fair Mall. A wide range of opportunities are available as Primark looks to fill over 230 positions ranging from retail support and visual merchandising to cash office and stockroom roles.

In addition to two stores currently open in Boston’s Downtown Crossing and Pennsylvania’s King of Prussia Mall, as well as the upcoming Danbury store, Primark has announced plans to launch in five further locations through 2016/2017. Planned locations include Willow Grove Mall (Willow Grove, Pa.), Freehold Raceway Mall (Freehold, N.J.), Burlington Mall (Burlington, Mass.), Staten Island Mall (Staten Island, N.Y.), South Shore Plaza (Braintree, Mass.) Primark recently revealed plans for its ninth store in the Northeastern U.S. at American Dream, in East Rutherford, N.J.
