Putnam Sheriff IDs Danbury Woman Who Jumped from I-84 Bridge
A Danbury, CT resident, she used to live in Southeast.

The woman who leaped to her death from the high bridge over Route 6/22 yesterday near Brewster NY was a former Southeast resident, said Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith.
The Sheriff’s Office identified her as Kathleen A. Kondrat, 69.
She lived on Shady Lane in Southeast before moving to Danbury, CT about six months ago, police said.

The divided spans, also known as the high bridge, are 90 feet above a road shared by Routes 6 and 22.
A man driving on I-84 saw her cross the span and notified a work crew about what he had seen.

Almost simultaneously, the Putnam Sheriff’s Office and the County 911 center received calls about a woman lying in the road beneath the bridge.
The county coroner pronounced her dead at the scene.
