Recount: Danbury's Chaleski Wins 138th State House District Race

DANBURY, CT — Election officials have confirmed Danbury Board of Education Chair Rachel Chaleski's victory in the 138th state House District race.

After the first count on Election night, Chaleski's 3,346 vote tally versus the 3,319 votes racked up by two-term incumbent Democrat Rep. Kenneth Gucker triggered an automatic recount, according to state election laws. Following a recount Tuesday, officials determined that Chaleski had squeaked out a 26-vote victory, moving her into her new role in Hartford.
