New Milford, CT -- The Litchfield Crossings Cares Fall Fundraiser, benefiting the Water Witch Hose Co. #2, will include presentations about home fire prevention by the American Red Cross, plus an opportunity to sign up for free home installation of up to three fire alarms.

American Red Cross HFPC Coordinator Claudia Berry will introduce the organization’s Home Fire Preparedness campaign at the Fundraiser on Saturday, September 28, from 12pm to 5pm at Litchfield Crossings Shopping center.

Says Berry, “Our goal is to reduce the number of home-fire deaths in the U.S., by 25% by installing free smoke alarms in any residence that does not have them. We have trained Red Cross teams that come to visit homes by appointment and install up to three alarms in addition to educating residents about home-fire safety, fire prevention and disaster preparedness. We will be answering questions and taking appointment requests at our booth. Come on down.”
