Retired Danbury Assistant Superintendent in Need of Kidney Donor

A woman who has worked 35 years helping special-needs students is in need of a kidney donor.

DANBURY, CT - A Danbury woman who has made a career out of helping and protecting students is in need of a kidney transplant, the Danbury News Times reported.

MaryJo Marra-Hauser, 60, is a retired Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Personnel Services for North Salem Schools, according to the Danbury News Times. She spent 35 years at her job ensuring the safety and wellness of special-needs students.

She is diagnosed with kidney disease, but is hoping for a “preemptive transplant” before her kidneys fail entirely, the Danbury News Times reported. She has been working with Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston to find a match.
