Saadi to Step Down from Danbury City Council
Saadi is stepping down to devote all his time to being the State Commissioner of the Department of Veterans Affairs.

DANBURY, CT — City Councilman Thomas Saadi has announced his intention to resign next month.
Saadi is stepping down to devote all his time to being the State Commissioner of the Department of Veterans Affairs, a position in which he has served since 2017. Earlier this month, Gov. Ned Lamont nominated him to continue in that role.
"Over the past year and a half as Commissioner I have been committed to serving our State's Veterans with my full resolve while continuing my duties as a Councilman in service to the residents of the 4th Ward with the strong advocacy they deserve,” Saadi said in a release. “However, greater responsibilities as Commissioner and increased military obligations, combined with the all important duties of being a father and husband, have led me to conclude that I can no longer commit the time and energy necessary to properly serve the residents of the 4th Ward while carrying out my duties to our Veterans, to my county and to my family."
