Search for Baby Reportedly Thrown into Danbury River Comes Up Dry

DANBURY, CT — Police and firefighters searched the Still River on Wednesday following a report that someone had thrown a bundled blanket into the river near the White Street bridge on Tuesday, just before the heavy rains arrived. The News Times is reporting that police got the call on Wednesday morning.

Firefighters, who searched the whole area and walked the length of the river down to rail yard, found a blanket that matched the description in the call, but reported no sign of any baby.

Officials deployed a drone equipped with thermal sensors in the search, but no child was found.
