More than 110 children served by Family & Children's Aid will participate in the trip.

Press Release From Family and Children’s Aid
More than 110 children served by Family & Children’s Aid have signed up to participate in a shoe-shopping trip at the Danbury Fair Mall Payless ShoeSource store on Feb. 10.
The Payless Gives Shoes 4 Kids program is providing $20 one-time-use merchandise certificates for each of the 112 children who receive services through the in-home and community based programs and have registered to participate, as well as kids in the two adolescent group homes, after school program and safe home.

Over 80 percent of the children FCA serves fall into low-to-mid-income or meet the federal guidelines for poverty.
Payless could donate just the shoes, but they value the whole experience of shopping for and the joy of picking out your very own, brand new, pair of shoes. They want to provide that opportunity for children who wouldn’t normally have it.

Family & Children’s Aid views our mission broadly, to encompass more than providing quality behavioral and mental health services. If we can alleviate financial burdens, reduce stress at home, and contribute to positive family interactions, then we have also improved the health of our children and their families. The Payless GivesTM Shoes 4 Kids program is helping to do that for our children and families.
