Small Business Advocacy Group Endorses Callahan for Re-election
A leading advocacy group for small businesses has endorsed state Rep. Patrick Callahan's efforts on behalf of job creators.

A leading advocacy group for small businesses has endorsed state Rep. Patrick Callahan’s efforts on behalf of job creators, signaling to its members that he should be sent back to the legislature to help promote Connecticut’s continued economic recovery.

In its endorsement of Callahan on Monday, the Connecticut-based political action committee for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) wrote, “you will be committed to the needs of thousands of Main Street small businesses and their employees in Connecticut when you are elected to serve in Hartford.”
NFIB is the leading small-business association in the nation with thousands of members in Connecticut representing a cross-section of the state's economy. For more than 75 years, NFIB has advocated on behalf of America’s small and independent business owners, both in Washington, D.C., and in all 50 state capitals. NFIB is nonprofit, nonpartisan, and member-driven. Since its founding in 1943, NFIB has been exclusively dedicated to small and independent businesses and remains so today.

“I will always stand up for the business community and fight new fees or taxes and burdensome reporting requirements placed on them,” said Callahan, who represents the 108th House District serving residents of New Fairfield, New Milford, Sherman, and Danbury. “In the small towns I have the honor of representing, our independent businesses are the heartbeat of the community and I want to make sure they can continue to not only survive, but thrive here.”
Callahan, of New Fairfield is the Ranking Member of the Environment Committee and is a member of the committees on Appropriations and Judiciary.
