State to Acquire Danbury Land as Part of Newtown Road Expansion
Connecticut will acquire the property as part of its project to improve Newtown Road.
DANBURY, CT — The City Council has approved a resolution that allows the state Department of Transportation to take over land within the Danbury Public Works complex, the News-Times is reporting.
Connecticut will acquire the property as part of its project to improve Newtown Road. In return, the city will receive $208,900 for the value of the property, easements and damages.
The state is looking to widen Newtown Road from the Public Works complex to Plumtrees Road, install a raised island from Old Newtown Road to Plumtrees Road, and complete improvements to the Eagle and Newtown roads intersection.
