Taborsak Keeps At-Large Seat After Vote Recount in Danbury

Democrat Robert Taborsak survived a vote recount mandated by his very narrow win last Tuesday on Election Day.

DANBURY, CT — Democrat Robert Taborsak survived a vote recount and remained the winner in last week's at-large seat on City Council, the News-Times has reported.

State law mandated the re-tabulation due to the mere 14-vote margin between Taborask and Republican rival Bruce Bennett. After about seven hours of careful counting, Taborsak claimed 7,275 votes, 32 more than Bennett.

The town clerk is expected to certify the results on Thursday.
