TBICO gets $25,000.00 grant from Fairfield County’s Community Foundation!
A big boost to help TBICO participants gain skills to sustain employment and contribute positively to their families and their community.

News Release - RE: FCCF 2017 Grant
The Fairfield County’s Community Foundation presented TBICO of Danbury, CT with a $ 25,00.00 grant award for the nonprofit’s workforce development program Better Skills. Better Jobs. Better Lives. “This grant offers significant support to our program, and we are very appreciative for the funding from FCCF,” said LouAnn Bloomer, President/CEO of TBICO. “Participants will gain contemporary skills and confidence to sustain employment and contribute positively to their families and their community.”
Established in 1993, TBICO is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit agency with a very straightforward mission—to help people help themselves; promoting personal and economic self-sufficiency through education, job training and financial literacy. TBICO provides employment-related support services for low income and/or disadvantaged adults who need to enter or re-enter the workforce.

Many area families, including more than 47% of single mothers, don’t earn enough to meet their families’ basic needs for food, housing, healthcare, childcare, and transportation. “How would you turn your life around if you didn’t have the education, experience and stability to get a job that could meet basic needs?” said LouAnn Bloomer, President & CEO of TBICO. “At TBICO, we believe that every person who is willing to work hard deserves an opportunity to succeed, and we thank Fairfield County’s Community Foundation for their generous support.
The Fairfield County’s Community Foundation promotes philanthropy as a means to create change in Fairfield County, focusing on innovative and collaborative solutions to critical issues impacting the community. It is an educational, employment and personal resource center with programs and curriculum that blends basic job and life skills with computer and workforce training.
