UPDATE: 3-Alarm Blaze Damages Deli on Lake Avenue in Danbury
Crews from multiple municipalities battled the blaze in frigid temperatures for several hours.
DANBURY, CT — A three-alarm fire heavily damage a deli on Lake Avenue Monday night, the Danbury Fire Department said in a release. No injuries were reported.
Dispatchers received multiple 911 calls shortly before midnight Monday night reporting smoke coming from a building near Lake Avenue and Hobson Street. First responders found what they described as a "stubborn" blaze in the attic above Marcello’s Deli and Catering at 76 Lake Avenue.
The incident was escalated to a three-alarm fire, and personnel and apparatus from the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company, Bethel Fire and EMS, the Ridgefield Fire Department, Danbury Emergency Services, Danbury Hospital EMS and the Danbury Police Department were summoned to assist.

Crews battled the blaze in frigid temperatures for several hours, and Danbury Public Works was called upon to assist with the icy conditions.
No one was in the deli at the time of the incident, which is still under investigation by the Danbury Fire Marshal's Office.
