Three Seriously Injured in Danbury Head-On Collision

All had to be extricated from their vehicles by the fire department.

DANBURY, CT -- Police are reporting a multi-vehicle collision with injuries late Friday.

Police responded to a call about a serious motor vehicle collision at approximately 11:46 p.m. on July 27.

Police report that a 2015 Jeep Grand Jerokee traveling westbound collided head-on with a 2002 GMC Envoy in the area of 26 Newtown Road.

Three people within the vehicles needed to be extricated by emergency services crews, according to the Danbury Fire Department's Facebook page.

Danbury Hospital EMS and the Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Company rescue truck were also called to the scene. EMS technicians provided emergency care to the three.

The driver of the Jeep, Eueal Dagne, 38, of Bethel, the Envoy's driver, Robert Bates, 54, of Brookfield, and his passenger, Lisa Munger, 49, of New Milford, were transported to Danbury Hospital for injuries sustained in this collision, police said.

Police closed the area down for about two hours. Fire crews remained at the site to provide lighting and hazard control.

This collision is under investigation by the Danbury Police Department’s Traffic Unit. Police are requesting that anyone who witnessed this collision or has information contact Sgt. Rory DeRocco at (203) 797-2157.
