Transportation Plan Discussion Held in Danbury
The League of Women Voters of Greater Danbury sponsored the event to get information out about the 30-year $100 billion plan.

Connecticut residents could face significant tax increases needed to fund the states proposed $100 billion transportation plan.
That was one of the comments made during a forum on the 30-year plan sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Greater Danbury, the Danbury News Times reported.
State Sen. Toni Boucher, R-Wilton, said there could be increases in gas, sales and petroleum taxes, mileage taxes and tolls if the plan goes into effect as proposed.

She did offer that the gas-tax increase was the least controversial and fairest of the increases, based on public discussions, the News Times said.
The League held the forum to allow the public to learn more about the transportation plan. Speakers included elected and other state officials.
